Changing Patterns
90 Hours of Practice
As we increase our commitment to consciousness through practice… individuals are encouraged to select a (one at a time) specific internal capacity or external condition that you know is a growth area and/or need for you. Over about 90 hours (the amount of time recommended by behavioral scientists to begin to build a new routine or habit) explore the Togetherness Practice with one or two “practice partners” with an emphasis on those specific opportunity areas. This ongoing work enables us to forge developmental pathways for ourselves and others with the intention of building our will, agency, and sense of possibility.
“IT IS IMPORTANT IN ANY PARTNERSHIP THAT IT HAS TO TRANSCEND COGNITIVE AND EVEN EMOTIONAL CONNECTION. IT HAS TO GET TO THAT DEEP SPIRITUAL CONNECTION FOR YOU TO SUSTAIN, FOR YOU TO BE TRUSTING, FOR YOU TO BE RESPECTFUL, FOR YOU TO BE ABLE TO TO LOOK AT CONFLICT AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE ABLE TO CREATE LOVE AND UNITY.”
–Azim Khamisa, as quoted in Jean Oelwang’s book “Partnering”
